Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Expert - Embedded Tester

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our team. As an embedded tester, you will contribute to a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 members, taking ownership of test strategies for features of moderate complexity. Your expertise will help ensure the quality of our games, collaborating closely with development teams to deploy various test techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning test strategies for medium-complexity features, prioritizing test writing and execution equally.
  • Deploying a range of test techniques, demonstrating an understanding of test categories including failure, performance, etc.
  • Executing tests against user stories and scripted test cases in a grey box environment.
  • Regularly reporting progress of user story testing throughout the production phase to game teams and feature stakeholders.
  • Logging clear feature defects in Jira and steering them through the lifecycle.
  • Effectively contributing to user story designs, voicing QA concerns, and defining test scope.
  • Seeking out and nurturing relationships with developers to better understand features and make testing more effective and efficient.
  • Actively owning test areas and ensuring defects are entered, including taking on features that are technically or practically more challenging, leading to higher risk.
  • Representing QA discipline in planning, weekly meetings, daily scrums, and other team Agile practices.
  • Solving complex problems in effective, efficient, and resourceful ways, with the ability to break down problems.
  • Promoting cross-discipline knowledge sharing, e.g., working with code on how to best QA network traffic.
  • Maintaining a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment.
  • Working with outsource QA teams to achieve the best possible results, including creating documentation, mentoring when appropriate, and fielding questions.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in responding to business priorities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of client/server testing and the importance of metadata.
  • Familiarity with source control, such as GIT, P4, or SVN.
  • Experience working with development environments like Xcode, Visual Studio, Android SDK, Unity, etc.
  • Understanding of how software architecture influences the amount of testing required, including optimizing tests that utilize the same code paths and pairing test features.
  • Adept at costing, time estimation, risk analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Able to execute Telemetry testing.
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android operating systems and hardware.
  • Understanding of the SDLC and Change Management.
  • Awareness of defect metrics the QA team should track to measure success.
