Job Description

The Investment Casting Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving the development and delivery of next-generation Gas Power products. This individual will partner with cross-functional teams to industrialize existing products and improve manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and product management teams to drive product industrialization and improve manufacturability.
  2. Partner with suppliers to understand yield, quality issues, and producibility challenges, and develop solutions to resolve problems.
  3. Develop and execute plans to qualify internal manufacturing operations and/or external suppliers to meet new product introduction fulfillment and quality goals.
  4. Work with Design Engineering to ensure producible and cost-effective concepts early in the New Product Introduction process.
  5. Evaluate new product needs and develop advanced technology roadmaps, including technology solutions, investment, and overall technology strategy.
  6. Ensure design changes are validated, risks are quantified, and cost impacts are assessed prior to implementation.
  7. Develop tooling, machining, and/or assembly procedures for production products.
  8. Responsible for on-time and on-budget manufacturing and assembly of initial NPI units.
  9. Provide technical guidance and solutions to optimize cost competitiveness, quality excellence, and cycle time leadership across the full product supply chain.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience).
  2. 8+ years of engineering/manufacturing/sourcing experience, with a minimum of 4 years in the investment casting industry (for roles within the USA).
  3. Significant work experience within engineering/manufacturing/sourcing and strong work experience in the investment casting industry (for roles outside of the USA).
  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to drive projects to completion under tight deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manufacture or engineer out cost/cycle and improve product quality/performance.
  6. Technical knowledge and experience in aviation or gas turbine investment castings and processes.
  7. Strong project management skills and detail orientation.
  8. Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training.
