About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Specialist to join our team at Ameresco Ltd. This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to make a real impact in the field of renewable energy and decarbonisation.


The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Project Development team, working on a wide range of clean technologies and renewable projects across the UK.


Job Description



  • Conduct technical analysis and project development deliverables for customers in both public and private sectors.
  • Support work assignments covering energy data analysis and modelling, feasibility studies, site energy audits, stakeholder coordination, draft report configuration, and internal work process improvement.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the energy efficiency and renewable energy sector, possessing strong analytical skills, adept IT and software systems usage, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital graphic software, familiarity with Renewable Energy design tools, and willingness to travel nationwide.
  • Engage in similar activities with 6-12 months' workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities



  1. Compile site information including utility data, metering data, field measurements, existing system configuration and operation, and service reports.
  2. Perform desktop data analysis, including energy usage analysis, energy modelling, benchmarking, GIS analysis, and building heat loss analysis.
  3. Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic analysis across various renewable and clean technologies.
  4. Assist in energy audits and site surveys to identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) at potential customer sites.
  5. Prepare capital cost and energy savings models, including EPC, PPA, and EaaS.
  6. Liaise with client stakeholders and arrange site attendance with contractors.
  7. Prepare draft technical reports and presentation material, managing project supporting documentation detailing buildings, building systems, data analysis results, and energy savings opportunities.
  8. Deliver quality seamless customer service and other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical.
  • At least one year's experience in energy, renewables, or decarbonisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Good verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
  • Experience with energy modelling software or programming languages advantageous.
