Academic Lecturer in Clinical Practice for Physician Associate Studies

Main Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities for the clinical skills curriculum on the Master in Physician Associate Studies Programme.
- Develop and set formative and summative assessments to support student learning and achievement.
- Act as a project supervisor for the programme, providing guidance and support to students.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students as a personal tutor, facilitating direct communication and supporting communication from other departments within the University.
- Attend and contribute to Programme Committee Meetings, Programme Team Meetings, and other subject group meetings and working groups as required.
- Inform curriculum development within the programme, including the revision of existing modules and the introduction of new modules and teaching methods.
- Undertake research and scholarly activities, as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Relevant teaching experience in clinical practice or higher education.
- Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the Physician Associate profession's clinical skills for patient assessment.
- Appreciation and understanding of the educational needs of students, including prior learning experiences and current educational expectations.
- Cultural awareness and proficiency in English language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and academic colleagues.
- Ability to deal with conflicting demands and priorities, work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a team, and possess excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Commitment to reflective practice, continual improvement, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a health professional discipline or equivalent experience.
- Current registration with the General Medical Council or other UK health professional regulator, or if a Physician Associate, possess current UK Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Registration at commencement of the post.
