Job Description

**Job Title:** 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Primary School Support

**Job Type:** Full-time/Part-time

**Location:** Primary School in Morpeth

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behavior in a Primary School setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN and challenging behavior on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities
  • Prepare resources for lessons
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • Recognised Childcare-based qualification (desirable)
  • Ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students (desirable)
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
  • Genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education
