Senior Estimator

GS3 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to join our client's head office in Cambuslang. This experienced professional will play a crucial role in estimating and detailing complex curtain walling & façade projects.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in estimating or detailing, with a strong understanding of curtain walling & façade systems, including Schu-Kal and LogicKal software. They should also possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients and internal teams.

1. Perform take-offs and price works using Schu-Kal and LogicKal software to deliver high-quality estimates for tender bids and financial reports.
2. Collaborate with the sales team and design team to prepare competitive tender bids and financial estimates ranging from £1,000 to £1 million.
3. Have in-depth knowledge of BS/EN codes (NBS: H11, H13, L10, & L20) and CWCT standards, providing expert advice to clients on system performance.
4. Pricing specialist works for steel fire screens, curtain walling, structural glazing, and window systems.
5. Review material and labour requirements, ensuring accurate costing and timely delivery.
6. Maintain a directory of supply chain partners, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.
7. Work independently to submit compliant competitive bids and liaise with the chief estimator.

1. At least 5+ years of experience as an estimator or draughtsperson, with expertise in commercial glazing, curtain walling & façade sectors.
2. Technical understanding of glass, windows, doors, and aluminium curtain walling.
3. Effective interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
4. A relevant time-served apprenticeship trades background.
5. Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Civil Engineering - HND, NVQ or equivalent as a minimum.
