Maintenance Assistant (Compliance)

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant (Compliance) to join our team at the University of Bath. As a key member of our Campus Infrastructure department, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and management of our buildings, focusing on compliance tasks and routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake routine testing of emergency lighting, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, RCDs, and fire doors
  • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance, including general repairs, minor plumbing, and testing
  • Identify and remedy a variety of maintenance tasks, keeping affected parties informed
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
  • Develop and apply problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills
Requirements:
  • Practical hands-on DIY skills and vocational training and experience in maintenance
  • Familiarity with the built environment and ability to identify and remedy maintenance tasks
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to undertake training to improve knowledge
  • Commitment to the role and ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills
