Job Title: SEMH Support Worker

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Worker to join our team at a specialist SEND school in Nottinghamshire.

About the Role:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a SEMH Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our students to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children during lessons and school activities to promote their emotional and social well-being
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to develop personalized learning plans for students with SEMH needs
  • Providing physical management and care for pupils, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Delivering 1:1 or small group activities to support students' emotional regulation and social skills
  • Collecting evidence of children's work to inform their assessment and progress
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • High levels of care, resilience, and patience when working with students who may present challenging behaviors
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for students
  • Desirable: experience working with students with additional needs, teaching references, and a willingness to participate in the wider school environment
