As a Customs Clerk, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on customs procedures, dealing with queries efficiently, and arranging deliveries to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading jobs in Multifreight: You will be responsible for loading jobs into our Multifreight system when required.
  • Preparing CDS entries: You will prepare Customs Declaration System (CDS) entries for our clients.
  • Ongoing learning: You will be expected to continuously learn and stay up-to-date with customs regimes, commodity codes, and CPC codes.
  • Handling post-clearance documents: You will handle post-clearance documents for our clients.
  • Communication: You will communicate with clients, shipping lines, and overseas offices/agents to ensure smooth delivery of goods.
  • Raising and passing invoices: You will raise and pass invoices for our clients.
  • Audit preparation: You will assist in preparing for audits by HMRC.

Requirements:

  • Experience: You will have solid experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance.
  • Commercial awareness: You will have commercial awareness and knowledge of tariffs and incoterms.
  • Language skills: You will have excellent language skills, particularly in English.
