About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Project Architect to join our London or Kent studio. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic Project Architect to work directly with the Project Director on the design and development of projects.


The successful candidate will have experience in working on multiple projects across various sectors, with a proven track record of delivering design and development projects from concept stage through to completion.


Key Responsibilities



  • Work directly with the Project Director on the design and development of projects
  • Lead an in-house team of architectural staff and an external design team for large educational and commercial schemes
  • Take responsibility for the production of Accommodation Strategies, Feasibility Studies, and Utilisation and Area Forecasts
  • Review and comment on project programmes
  • Develop Deliverables Schedules for the architectural teams and associated consultants
  • Obtain quotations for sub-consultants and surveys and appoint as necessary
  • Prepare concept design sketches and develop the design using ArchiCAD and Sketch-up
  • Brief and manage an architectural team to realise design proposals in a drawn format
  • Brief and manage a Visualiser for 3D animations of projects
  • Contribute to the development of the ArchiCAD BIM model
  • Produce Stage Reports and other necessary reports for projects
  • Take responsibility for the compilation of the Planning Application package
  • Chair, record, and minute Design Team meetings and Co-ordination meetings
  • Attend client project meetings to present architectural designs and reports
  • Ensure that the architectural team produces all necessary information for statutory authority submissions
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Design Team
  • Develop and produce Room Data Sheets in conjunction with the client
  • Ensure that the design is kept within the client's set budget
  • Advise the Project Technician on deliverable programming
  • Contribute to the detailed design process and co-ordinate detailed design information
  • Work with the contractor for Design & Build projects
  • Attend Design Team Meetings, co-ordination meetings, and workshops, and present detailed design proposals
  • Review Acoustic and Fire reports and incorporate strategies into the detailed design package
  • Prepare specifications for construction work
  • Prepare drawings, plans, and documents for statutory approvals
  • Present construction drawings and details using ArchiCAD as required by the contractor
  • Respond to contractors' requests for Information
