SEMHA Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a lovely SEN school in Chatham. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who may be struggling with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage challenging behavior and provide one-to-one support where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support pupils with SEMH needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
