Job AdvertWe are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Housing Need Strategy Team as a Quality and Development Officer. The successful candidate will take a lead role in setting the strategic direction and operational performance of the Housing Need Service.
The post holder will programme a range of quality assurance and improvement work that aligns with the workplan of the wider strategy team. This includes auditing officer decisions and processes, taking forward improvements, and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
The role supports the service drive to deliver compliant, customer-focused, and high-quality services to people who are threatened with homelessness or who are homeless.
The Quality and Development Officer will work closely with the manager to create a new appeals programme, deal with customer satisfaction issues, and seek to learn from this in order to identify areas for improvement.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to help sustain our strong partnership working with our key partners. They will also be experienced in working with groups of staff and individuals on delivering feedback on performance and constructively helping them improve their individual skills.
This is a permanent post that will help the manager of the strategy team drive forward the improvement programme for the Housing Need Service. The successful candidate will also support the Housing Access Operational Manager in building capacity and capability of the Housing Access team.
The Quality and Development Officer will have access to West Lothian Council's Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.
