Skilled Structural Steel Fabricator

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join our client's team in Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced fabricators and welders who want to work on challenging projects.

This permanent position involves working in a workshop near Wigan, where you will be responsible for fabricating structural components using various techniques, including oxy-fuel gas cutting and hand grinding. You will also be involved in pressure testing, drilling, and lock fitting, as well as reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate should have experience in fabrication and welding, with a City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification. They should also have proven expertise in heavy gauge fabrication and plating, with significant experience in structural steel fabrication.

• Fabricating structural components using different methods
• Pressure testing, drilling, and lock fitting
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Operating various tools and machinery
• Assembling parts into a structure using welding, bolts, or rivets

Our client offers a competitive hourly rate of £17.12, basic salary of £35,609 per annum, and overtime paid at x1.5 (£25.68) and x2 (£34.24). The role is based in a workshop near Wigan, and our client expects applicants to be commutable from surrounding areas, including Manchester, Warrington, St Helens, Skelmersdale, Widnes, Chorley, Preston, Bolton, Leyland.
