Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Architect to lead our application modernisation project within the Foreign Exchange (FX) division. This exciting role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities, offering a unique blend of challenges and opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the technical direction and execution of the application modernisation project within the FX domain.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy containerised applications using Kubernetes.
  3. Oversee the integration of Kafka data feeds to enhance real-time data processing and analytics.
  4. Ensure seamless migration of existing Java APIs and microservices to the new platform.
  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  6. Liaise with stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives and ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in leading technical projects, particularly in application modernisation within the financial services sector.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, microservices architecture, and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in setting up and managing Kafka data feeds.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical teams.
  • Proven ability to work in a hybrid working model, balancing on-site and remote work effectively.
