We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Operations to join our team at 279 University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our administration management team, you will play a crucial role in the achievement of service delivery for our Screening Programme.
Key Responsibilities- Provide efficient and effective patient access, reception, secretarial, and ward administration services as allocated.
- Direct line management of the team, including staff recruitment, appraisal, feedback, and performance management.
- Manage and develop the access service, ensuring equitable workload distribution and effective management of absences.
- Responsible for staff training and development, induction programmes, and Trust accreditation processes.
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, General Practitioners, Consultants, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate complex matters with Nurse Specialists, General Practitioners, Consultants, patients, medical secretaries, and allied areas.
- Maintain accurate annual leave and sickness records for direct reports and take action as required.
- Manage and address any issues relating to a breach.
- Undertake regular workstation assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret statistical performance information and provide reports to relevant parties.
- Support the Manager in annual capacity/demand planning and participate in department management team meetings.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in directing teams and managing budgets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Experience in staff recruitment, appraisal, feedback, and performance management.
- Knowledge of information systems and clinical and non-clinical areas, with the ability to provide advice and guidance to colleagues.
