Job Description

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in High Wycombe.

This is a permanent position within an international engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture and servicing of special purpose machinery for various industries.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, manufacturing and supporting standard and custom thermal products. Managing projects to develop bespoke products and accessories to meet the testing needs of customers, with a focus on chambers and furnaces for materials testing at above and below ambient temperatures.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing high-quality, custom thermal products for a regulated environment
  2. Estimating tasks and executing work packages within defined scope and budget
  3. Detailed mechanical design using CAD
  4. Ensuring all designs and activities adhere to necessary technical and safety requirements, including project team activities and risk assessments
  5. Occasional visits to customer sites to assist in the commissioning of thermal products
  6. Defining product tests, simulating, testing and recording results to verify system/subsystem requirements
  7. Providing technical leadership for thermal products and operations staff

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  1. Experience as a Mechanical Engineer with experience in both design and hands-on roles
  2. High level of experience in project management
  3. Ability to generate theoretical and practical mechanical designs supported by technical calculations
  4. Well-founded knowledge of manufacturing methods and technology, including production equipment, manufacturing and design processes
  5. Ability to design for quality, performance, manufacturability, serviceability, reliability and cost-effectiveness

Reward

The salary for this role is up to £50,000 per annum.
