Job Title: Road Freight Logistics Specialist

Are you looking for a challenging career opportunity in transportation logistics? Do you have a strong background in customer service and data entry? If so, we have an exciting role for a Transportation Service Representative to join our team at Freight Personnel.

About the Role:
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing collection and delivery status, handling web bookings, contacting hauliers, monitoring transport queries, and providing exceptional customer service via phone and email. Your primary goal will be to ensure smooth and efficient movement of all shipments, while delivering excellent customer service and meeting deadlines.
  • Updating collection and delivery status in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for web bookings.
  • Contacting hauliers to provide quotations for special collections/deliveries.
  • Monitoring and dealing with transport queries by liaising with other depots.
  • Checking that collections are clear and populating the planning sheet.
  • Responsible for creation and issuing of run sheets detailing all collections and deliveries.
  • Working with Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure smooth and efficient movement of all shipments.
  • Providing exceptional customer service - dealing with queries from customers, subcontractors, and drivers and assist in their enquiries via phone and email, ensuring satisfactory and timely resolution.
  • Data entry with attention to detail.
  • Transport planning for same day collections.
  • Creating movements for subcontractors.

Key Skills & Attributes:
  1. A good understanding of Road / Trailer freight / Transport logistics is essential.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook is required.
  3. The ability to work flexibly, adapt quickly to new situations, and learn new skills efficiently.
  4. Fluent English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Package and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a full-time contract, bonus scheme, and pension plan. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 3pm-12am, with a 60-minute break. We estimate the annual salary for this role to be approximately £28,000-£32,000, depending on experience.
