Behaviour Support Specialist for Primary Schools

About the Role
Academics Rochester is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to fill a Behaviour Support Specialist position in one of our primary schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with special education needs, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing individualised support to students, collaborating with teaching staff to develop behaviour plans, and assisting in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality support to students with special education needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers to design and implement behaviour interventions
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to ensure effective partnerships
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs
- Knowledge of SEMH and Behaviour support strategies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and solution-focused approach
