Job Title: Assistant File Handler

We are seeking an experienced Assistant File Handler to join our team at Keoghs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting our Partners in handling a caseload of mixed disease claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing documents and preparing reports to support the progression of claims
  • Considering the strategy of each case to ensure effective progression
  • Dealing with disclosure and reviewing evidence to inform case decisions
  • Conducting investigations and obtaining witness statements as required
  • Instructing Counsel and Experts to support the claims process
  • Researching and drafting reports and correspondence to support the claims process
  • Attending conferences and trials with Counsel to support the claims process
  • Dealing with routine correspondence and court appointments
  • Providing initial reports and further reports/advice to clients as requested
  • Liaising directly with Claims Handlers and Managers to ensure effective communication
  • Complying with Client instructions and adhering to the Keoghs Values
Requirements:
  • Technically proficient in handling and/or assisting on disease litigated cases
  • At least 5 years PQE or equivalent experience
  • Effective negotiator with strong communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure to target
  • Flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken and ability to self-organise and self-prioritise
  • Good level of IT skills and ability to work within the Keoghs shared behavior framework
