About the Role:

BettingJobs is working with a leading sports analytics company that serves the iGaming industry, seeking a Data Scientist to be based in London.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a data scientist to work on the betting and prediction side of our business, helping us improve our ability to forecast match outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement predictive models to enhance our betting capabilities
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into our business decisions
  • Design and implement data visualizations to communicate complex statistical analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify challenges and propose solutions
  • Interest in football and betting/prediction problems
  • Ability to make pragmatic and sensible choices about data analysis and modeling approaches
  • Flair for communicating statistical analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Programming experience, preferably with Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of practical data science experience
  • Project management skills, including the ability to make sensible value judgments about where the team should spend time
  • Extensive knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques
  • Strong programming skills, ideally with Python
  • Experience working with other data scientists on a collaborative codebase
  • Experience of deploying models to production, ideally in AWS or another cloud environment
