English Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate English Teacher to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd. As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and inspiring a love for language and literature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students, covering a range of literary genres, writing styles, and language skills.
  • Teaching Strategies and Resources: Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to engage students and enhance their understanding of key literary concepts and techniques.
  • Classroom Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves creatively, explore diverse perspectives, and develop their own voice as writers and thinkers.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth and development.
  • Reading Promotion: Introduce students to a wide range of texts, genres, and authors, and encourage independent reading habits both in and out of the classroom.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Relevant university degree in English or a related field, and a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Experience teaching English within a UK school setting is preferred, but not essential.
