Job Summary: Butler Rose is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to lead our Private Client tax team in Central London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private client tax, including experience with OMBs, HNWIs, non-residents, non-domiciles, partnerships, and trusts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to partners and directors in the effective running of the team and in winning new work.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple sources of earned and investment income.
  • Drive the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio.
  • Deal with advisory assignments and be a key point of contact for clients.
  • Oversee the UK tax return filling process for a broad variety of clients.
  • Monitor team progress against targets and provide feedback and input into staff appraisals.

Requirements:

  • ATT & CTA Qualified with significant private client tax experience.
  • Ability to confidently interact with HMRC regarding complex issues on behalf of clients.
  • Deliver advice confidently in transactional, litigious, or confrontational circumstances.
  • Report on tax and other implications of incorporation of self-employment and businesses.
  • Experience in Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations.
  • Demonstrable experience of report writing and ad hoc advisory work.
  • Previous supervisory and management experience including reviewing the work of others.
