Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our team on a 6-month contract. As a key member of the logistics team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the transportation of goods across various locations.

Responsibilities
  • Work in line with Health & Safety policy, legislation and company safety principles to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Create weekly order sheets and maintain standing orders to streamline logistics processes.
  • Create sales orders in the planning system and print delivery notes where required.
  • Monitor customer stock levels and plan deliveries accordingly to meet customer needs.
  • Create delivery plans, allocating trailers for each delivery, using the most efficient source and continually review this to identify potential issues and proactively amend as needed.
  • Liaise with third-party drivers to ensure they are aware of the delivery plan and provide them with all necessary information.
  • Liaise with hauliers daily to obtain manning and resource availability.
  • Monitor stock levels at various sites and inform the Logistics Manager of any problems.
  • Manage purchase orders for logistic-related suppliers.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure 24-hour planning cover is provided for the team.
  • Liaise with departments to ensure awareness of stock requirements and shipments arrive in a timely manner.
  • Inform the Engineering department of issues with items.
  • Daily contact with customers for enquiries, keeping the Commercial department informed of complaints and issues when needed.
Requirements
  • IT literacy with experience of transport systems and telemetry systems.
  • Experience in planning bulk multi-drop deliveries is essential.
  • Good understanding of UK/EU driving regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • A CPC qualification would be desirable.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £41,400 per annum, based on industry standards for similar positions in the Immingham area.
