Machine Learning Researcher

We are seeking a senior Research Associate to join the Machine Learning Research Group at the Department of Engineering Science. This fixed-term position is funded by the Oxford Martin School and will last until August 2026.
The successful candidate will work as part of a project team, supporting the Oxford Martin Programme on AI Threat Detection. The programme aims to develop advanced methods to detect attacks on AI systems.
You will lead the development of a test framework, including a library of target AI models and training datasets. You will also lead the development and implementation of algorithms for logging AI response to security threats.
This role requires a relevant PhD/DPhil and post-qualification research experience. You should also have experience with a range of machine learning techniques, appropriate for analysing patterns in large data sets.
The estimated salary for this position is around £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The Department holds an Athena Swan Bronze award, highlighting its commitment to promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
