Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering our solutions into live operational service for our suite of products across our entire customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and commission NEC Software Solutions bespoke Communication and CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) products solutions into customer environments.
  • Perform fault finding on our product suite of solutions at both hardware and software levels.
  • Develop, review, and update NEC Engineering documentation, including work plans, work instructions, and technical guides.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate activities and gather information required to complete tasks.
  • Work on customer sites as demand requires, with extensive travel expected, including overnight stays.
  • Accept a company car for business travel.
  • Interact with customers on both technical and non-technical levels, requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction/service.
  • Work both in a team and autonomously, with increasing autonomy achieved over time.
  • Adhere to NEC Software Solutions outlined processes and procedures.
  • Meet deadlines and report any difficulties in achieving delivery milestones.
  • Promote a clean working environment and adhere to all Health and Safety practices, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Education to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory/Domain Architecture.
  • Proven experience in administering and working with Microsoft Windows 11, Windows Server up to 2022.
  • Proven experience in deploying Microsoft Windows and server operating systems.
  • Proven experience in deploying Microsoft Windows Updates (WSUS).
  • Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of virtualization environments (Hyper-V or VMware).
  • MS Business Applications experience, including Excel, Visio, Word.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
