Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Class 2 Driver to join our team in Irlam. This is an ongoing position with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.

Job Overview

This role involves delivering carpets and flooring to commercial and residential properties within the local area.

  • You will be responsible for completing up to 25 drops per day, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Your tasks will also include conducting thorough vehicle checks before and after each shift, utilizing electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems to confirm successful deliveries, and performing intense manual handling, including loading and unloading heavy items.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver carpets and flooring to commercial and residential properties within the designated area.
  • Complete daily delivery rounds accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
  • Use electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems to confirm successful deliveries.
  • Perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively, including loading and unloading heavy items.
Requirements
  • A valid UK driving license with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
  • A valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on your license (minor offenses only).
  • A good understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • The ability to lift heavy items and handle physical tasks effectively.
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic.
Salary and Benefits

£15.00 per hour PAYE, Monday to Friday, start times between 4am and 6am (8-10 hour shifts). Ongoing position with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.
