Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Property Underwriter to join our Commercial Property Owners team. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting property owner schemes and managing relationships with brokers to achieve growth targets.

  • Underwriting Expertise: You will assess and underwrite property owner insurance applications, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Broker Management: Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, providing expert guidance and support throughout the underwriting process.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the performance of existing accounts and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Business Development: Proactively seek new business opportunities by building rapport with brokers and expanding our client base within the property insurance market.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Contribute to annual sales and underwriting audits, providing accurate data and insights to support company objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience in property underwriting within the insurance industry.
  • A strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate risks and make sound underwriting recommendations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage a diverse portfolio of property owner schemes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance market and industry best practices.
  • Experience with underwriting scheme business is highly desirable.
  • Ideally, you will hold a Diploma CII qualification or equivalent.
