Sofra Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Cafe Manager to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining the high standards of our cafe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager and Cafe Manager in leading the front-of-house department, including staff training, beverage program management, and daily operations.
  • Assist in leading training and onboarding of all front-of-house staff, including register, expo, runner, baristas, and other roles.
  • Train staff on food, beverage, service, operations, guest management, hospitality, culture, and other applicable topics.
  • Manage daily service operations, supervise staff, and solve problems as needed.
  • Assume shared responsibilities of the front-of-house management team, including opening/closing, retail support, catering, special events, cooking classes, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of supervisory and/or training experience.
  • At least 1 year of barista experience.
  • Ability to work full-time (approximately 45 hours/week) and be available weekends and holidays.
  • Treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
  • Be genuinely passionate about hospitality and the overall guest experience.
  • Work in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Work as a team and take direction from multiple managers.
  • Be able to deal successfully with multitasking and be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exhibit a desire to learn.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Have excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Desire for long-term employment.
