Dental Therapist Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate dental therapist to join our Plymouth Community Dental Service, part of Livewell Southwest. This specialist led community dental service provides dental care across a wide range of disciplines and offers an interesting and exciting place to work.

This role will be part of the therapist team and will undertake relevant treatment under prescription from clinicians for patients seen by the service, including children and adults with special needs (including medically compromised). Promotion of good oral health messaging is a key element of this role. Support with epidemiology surveys on behalf of Public Health England may also be part of this position.

Main Duties
  • Provide a full range of treatments under the prescription of dentists following the scope of practice for dental therapists.
  • Treatment of patients may involve the use of inhalation sedation.
  • Liaise with dentists regarding treatment plans.
  • Promote good oral health.
  • Support with epidemiology surveys for Public Health England and other related oral health promotions.
