Job Title: Secondary English Tutor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Secondary English Tutor to join our team at Teaching Personnel.

Job Type:

This is a temporary, part-time position, requiring flexibility to work on a school schedule.

Salary:

The hourly rate for this role is between £20 and £30, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Job Duties:
  • Deliver engaging English lessons to secondary school students, catering to their diverse needs and abilities.
  • Provide individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their progress and well-being.
  • Assess student progress, offering constructive feedback to students and parents, and collaborating with colleagues to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting students with SEN, including knowledge of relevant strategies and resources.
Education:

A Bachelor's degree in English or a related field is essential for this role.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level is required, with a strong track record of delivering effective lessons and supporting student progress.Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong differentiation skills, enabling the creation of engaging and challenging lessons for students with varying needs.
  • Good classroom management skills, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge to inform teaching practices.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis in a secondary school setting. The tutor will need to adapt to the school's schedule and work collaboratively with other staff members.
