Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Hertfordshire, Hybrid Working (3 days office, 2 days from home)

Working Hours: 5 days per week - 9am to 5.30pm (mon-fri)

Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Notice & Probation: 3 months' probation, notice period 1 month

Benefits: Discretionary bonus, private medical insurance and 20 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays. Study package to be agreed

Company Culture: A well-established boutique Accounting Practice with a loyal client base and long serving team members. This firm of Accountants are a very supportive team who work closely together to service their clients professionally and effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships to a good standard and be able to review the work of others.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and some minimal bookkeeping.
  • Reviewing sole trade accounts, limited company accounts, VAT returns and management accounts - dealing with queries and presenting final figures to partner for review.
  • Sending final packs to clients to sign and filings at Companies House and HMRC.
  • Payroll processing knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Assisting the partner with ad hoc tasks which will enable the candidate to grow and learn.
  • A strong technical knowledge is needed in accounts preparation (basic tax compliance) and especially the interaction of dividends, directors accounts and P11Ds. Proficient use of Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems such as Xero.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least AAT qualified or studying for ACCA.
  • Must have Full UK Right to Work (no sponsorship).
  • Management of client portfolio experience would be an advantage.
  • Proficient using cloud-based software such as Xero, and Microsoft Office packages.
