Cartographer & GIS Analyst Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking an experienced Cartographer & GIS Analyst to join our team in England.

You will be responsible for creating cartographical products, including alignment charts for technical design, environmental approval, stakeholder alignment, and government authorities. You will also manage geospatial data flows within projects using file geodatabases and enterprise GIS systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis to optimize project design elements upon request.
  • Manage large geophysical and geotechnical datasets (raster and vector).
  • Communicate project GIS data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date project data on the company's enterprise GIS system.
  • Create and maintain project Portal applications, such as dashboards, webmaps, and webapps.
  • Participate in meetings with external contractors to align GIS requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with the ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Portal.
  • Knowledge of Autochart extension in ArcGIS Pro for creating alignment charts.
  • Production of small and large cartographic products (maps, figures, data-driven pages, etc.).
  • Adding and extracting data from an enterprise database.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • A keen eye for detail in data quality assurance.
  • Fair understanding of datums, projections, and geodetic transformations.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD.
  • Python programming experience.
  • Experience using ArcGIS Model Builder.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per year
