London, Greater London, United Kingdom Wellcome Trust Full time

Salary: £59,474

We are a global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health for everyone.

Our strategy focuses on funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.

We aim to spend £16bn over the next decade, supporting new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and tackling three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health.

To achieve our goals, we partner with key decision-makers in governments, businesses, and other organisations, ensuring scientific evidence remains at the heart of health policy.

The Policy team provides expert insight and advocacy, creating pragmatic policy solutions and developing evidence-based arguments and products.

We are seeking 2 Policy Advisers to join our team, focusing on influencing activities related to the future of global health financing.

You will work within the Policy team, operating under a matrix management approach, where your day-to-day work is managed by a Policy Lead, while being line-managed by one of the four Heads of Policy.

As a Policy Adviser, you will develop project ideas, undertake planning, and identify resource needs. You will manage risks, deliver critical components of policy projects, and work with colleagues to devise and deliver communications and advocacy strategies.

You will represent Wellcome in senior internal and external fora, deputising for more senior team members as required. You will also contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience of policy research and analysis, drafting briefing papers, contributing to reports, and managing stakeholders to deliver progress towards policy objectives.

A strong background in global health, including the health research and development ecosystem, would be beneficial. Direct experience working with diverse stakeholders across countries and cultures is also an asset.

We offer a hybrid way of working, with a mix of office and remote days, allowing you to balance your personal and professional commitments. We strive to create a fair and inclusive environment, where everyone can thrive.
