Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Combined Facilities Management Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of individual projects, including tender preparation, payment applications, and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Commercial management of projects from pre-tender to client handover
- Effective interaction with the project manager and mentorship of trainee QS
- Agreeing specifications and budgets for new projects and monitoring throughout to ensure company goals are achieved
- Sub-contracting, letting, negotiation, and financial accounting
- Issuing early warnings and valuing and submitting compensation events in line with NEC 3 requirements
- Update of monthly WIP/CVR, cost, and commercial plans, with accountability for the commercial performance of the department
- Working within a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- Overseeing payment applications and agreeing final accounts, ensuring accurate measurement and submission of works to clients
- Cost control of all works in line with budgets, while ensuring works are delivered effectively and within contractual SLAs
- Accurate recording and maintenance of works records
- Issuing early warnings and compensation events
- Attending client meetings, representing CFM in the best possible light, and building strong client and supply chain relationships
- 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
- BSC (Hons), HND, BTEC in a construction-related field
- Knowledge and understanding of sub-contractor management
- Commercially and operationally aware on delivery of works
- Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Enthusiastic and result-driven
- IT literate, with Microsoft Office package
- Excellent attention to detail
- Preferred experience of public sector contracts and knowledge of NEC 3 contracts
