Exciting Opportunity for a Maintenance Technician
LINKS Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a well-established company in Oakdale, Newport. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery and facilities.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician who can provide breakdown service to our production areas, carry out planned maintenance on plant and production machinery, and support the Engineering Supervisor with the development and improvement of our facilities and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide breakdown service to production areas to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Carry out a programme of planned maintenance on plant and production machinery to ensure they are available for production in a safe and efficient condition.
- Support the Engineering Supervisor with the continual development and improvement of facilities and services available to the business.
- Work proactively to identify and act upon any sub-standard areas.
- Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on plant and machinery.
- Work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
- Complete elements of commissioning on plant and equipment.
- Work with sub-contractors to improve working knowledge of plant and equipment.
- Ensure that 'general' building/facilities maintenance is carried out.
- Support the introduction of new machinery and products.
- Work closely with other internal departments.
We are looking for a candidate with a completion of an engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC level or above in an engineering-related subject, or equivalent experience within a relevant engineering role. You will also need experience of working within a manufacturing environment, be multi-skilled with the ability to fault-find and repair both mechanical and electrical fields, and have experience across a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
