Job Title: Trade Compliance Manager

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Manager to join its Trade Compliance Function. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management of all aspects of UK Export Control and Compliance, as well as other relevant trade control laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals and managers at all levels within the IS&P LoB to ensure compliance with UK and foreign import/export laws, including the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Work with the IS&P LoB to understand Business Winning aspirations and ensure that trade compliance aspects are considered at an early stage, export licencing issues are dealt with in a timely manner, and that project teams create and maintain plans that address Trade Compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver Export Control and Trade Compliance training to ensure IPTs and functions are briefed on and aware of Trade Compliance matters relevant to their projects.
  • Manage the site Import/Export Control team to ensure full compliance with UK export licences, HMRC Regulations, and other UK authorisations, as well as all relevant Foreign Export licence conditions.
  • Initiate internal Trade Compliance assessments, preparation of reports, including draft Voluntary Disclosures for approval by Head of Trade Compliance – Electronics Division.
Requirements:
  • Experienced export control/trade compliance practitioner with detailed knowledge of UK Export Licencing, including Trade Controls, and good working knowledge of foreign import/export regulations, particularly EU Member States and the US ITAR and US EAR.
  • Excellent written skills, strong interpersonal/influencing skills, and presentation skills to deliver training.
  • Good all-round computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications, and meeting management skills.
