Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Production Manager to join our team at Caterpillar. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing a large department consisting of multiple value streams, providing material and/or complex products for multiple customers. You will interface with external customers and dealers, manage engineering response and escalation, and oversee several key suppliers, including sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff, including motivating and developing management teams.
  • Oversee operations activities, ensuring safety, schedules, and performance requirements are met, and system resources are used effectively.
  • Drive improvements for overall operations performance and implement production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and maintain a safe and sound manufacturing environment.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • SAP (ERP) functional knowledge.
  • Proven track record of managing a complex manufacturing organization, ideally in capital equipment manufacture.
  • Experience in managing an organization of 100+ employees.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
