The Senior Development Officer is a key role in driving the growth and expansion of Fleming College's strategic external relationships. This position is responsible for engaging with philanthropic supporters, strategic partners, and volunteers to enhance the College's financial sustainability and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, community leaders, and industry partners.
  • Prepare and present private proposals and grant applications to secure funding and support for the College's initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Dean(s)/academic leader(s) and their offices to enhance School engagement with alumni and donors.
  • Participate in department strategy development and contribute to the College's overall strategic direction.
  • Manage and track fundraising efforts using Raiser's Edge software.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in professional fundraising, with a focus on major gifts.
  • University or College fundraising and campaign experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing private proposals and grant applications.
  • Strong ability to build impactful and trusting relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • A vehicle, or access to a vehicle, to travel to meet clients and/or donors.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS-Access, Publisher.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge software to support fundraising efforts and tracking of moves management and strong prospect research skills.
