Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Technician to join our team at The Peninsula London. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for assisting engineers, technicians, and other tradespeople in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, fixtures, and fittings throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance and Repair: Ensure that engineering maintenance requests are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to established policies and procedures, maintenance programs, and operational schedules.
  2. Team Collaboration: Participate in daily team pre-shift briefings to ensure seamless communication and optimize operating performance.
  3. System Monitoring: Closely monitor and control all operating parameters of guest rooms and public area building services systems to ensure high efficiency of utilization and report any deviations to the Director of Engineering or Assistant Director of Engineering.
  4. Guest Services: Cooperate and coordinate with engineers and external contractors as needed, and interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a similar environment.
  2. Certifications: Trade certified or NVQ level Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  3. Knowledge: Good understanding of building services and relevant rules and regulations.
  4. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively.
  5. Problem-Solving: Good problem-solving skills, organized, and detail-oriented.
  6. Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts based on operational needs.
