Veterinary Assistant Professional

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our Registered Veterinary Nurses in delivering exceptional care to our patients. As a vital member of our team, you will assist with various tasks in surgery and ward settings, ensuring we provide the highest standard of care and service.
- Providing patient care, ordering supplies, cleaning and preparing surgical theatres, and sterilizing instruments.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and patients.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, consisting of five 8-hour shifts each week, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day. Shifts are scheduled on a rota between 07:00 and 20:30, typically following a consistent weekly pattern. You will work one in every six weekends, with time off in lieu provided, and cover two bank holidays per year, shared equitably within the team.
Job RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will require experience in animal care or handling, ideally complemented by relevant Animal Care qualifications. Flexibility to work additional hours when needed to support the hospital's demands and patient care is also essential.
Our estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay.
