Job Title: Asset Building Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our team in Truro. The successful candidate will provide technical advice and support to individuals with disabilities and older owner-occupiers in relation to home improvement works and adaptations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct property inspections to identify defects and solutions, and prepare surveys to assess hazards in the home.
  2. Provide guidance on whether work to a property is technically feasible, and prepare schedules of work, detailed specifications, and drawings as required.
  3. Liaise with contractors and assist with any disputes between contractors and clients.
  4. Identify hazards in the home and provide hazard awareness advice, and refer cases to the Private Sector Housing Team as necessary.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to carry out estate/house inspections and produce reports.
  2. Detailed knowledge and practical experience of building construction, building defects, and their remedies, as well as the Housing Health & Safety Rating System and legislation relating to disabled facilities grants.
  3. Minimum 2 years of surveying experience.
