Job Overview

Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled Stock and Planning Manager to join our Warehousing and Logistics team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of inventory managers and stock controllers, providing accurate and timely information to support the successful delivery of shared user services.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Manhattan WMS and a strong understanding of third-party logistics. They will be able to analyze datasets, establish conclusions, and make informed decisions to drive process improvements and enhance operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage reports for internal and external use to provide key information on all inventory-related issues.
  • Support and develop customer requirements for all stock-related challenges, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Act as the key link between operations and the wider IT community for WMS and other systems, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Provide analytical support to operations for labor planning, headcount, and productivity, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Support operational decision-making by providing insight and analysis, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Accountable for the delivery of all stock integrity and the management of related KPIs across all contracts, ensuring exceptional customer service and SLA compliance.
  • Develop, with the operations team, best practice and standardization of all control processes, driving efficiency and excellence.
  • Responsible for key control measures, including the integrity of the end-user client's stock, ensuring customer service levels are maintained and SLAs are met.
  • Lead on development of systems to support items, inclusive of user experience, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships with all key stakeholders to ensure first-class operational delivery, with a focus on stock integrity and planning accuracy.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all stock-related performance issues, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Deliver a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement, utilizing the most appropriate methodology on a consistent basis.
  • Enable audit governance to ensure adherence to specific regulatory body standards and client standards as required from time to time.
  • Ability to create detailed and trend analysis that identify root cause and resolution through Root Cause and Corrective Action principles.
  • Design and implement action plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy, and quality of service to meet customer requirements and adapt to increased customer demand.
  • Develop and deliver the inventory strategy, and the standardization and implementation of robust processes, ensuring all inventory policies and practices are adhered to and adopted throughout the W+L business.
  • Responsible for rolling out an Audit program across all sites, ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Oversee customer stock takes and audits, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Will be required to facilitate, coach, and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve stock management objectives.
  • Communicate and liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth and effective customer experience.
  • Lead customer review meetings and participate in tenders/presentations, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for business improvements within contracts, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive approach in supporting operations, driving efficiency and excellence.
  • Ability to travel to other sites in the W+L network and provide support as required, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Proactively lead the Inventory Management team to achieve planned targets and deadlines, objectively measuring performance, providing regular reviews, feedback, and coaching within a successful 'can-do' culture.
  • Actively manage the team's success and development through appraisals and performance reviews, coaching, and developing, leading a high-performing team and creating succession plans.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with Manhattan WMS is strongly desirable - other WMS experience essential.
  • Third-party logistics experience desirable.
  • Strong data analysis skills - and the ability to quickly assess raw data and create reports.
  • Clear, simple, and respectful communication in both verbal and written form.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Critical thinking skills, being able to analyze datasets and establish conclusions that allow the right decisions to be made.
  • Commitment to providing customers with the highest standards of service in an appropriately timely manner.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the client's organization.
  • Leadership of a team of Stock and Systems experts. Build positive team culture in line with overall W+L direction.
  • Continuous improvement of existing platforms to ensure best practice is continually bettered.
  • Ability to challenge others on their methods of working and manage process adherence.
