Regional Health and Safety Manager | East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire

A leading construction company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. As a key member of the Health and Safety leadership team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the company's SHE strategy and IMS.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, exceptional planning abilities, and a proactive approach. We are looking for individuals who are client-focused, possess strong commercial acumen, and can deliver results within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with clients and the internal H&S team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  2. Lead on SHE reporting and conduct accident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  3. Attend client H&S meetings to provide expert advice and support.
  4. Provide guidance and support to site teams on all H&S aspects, including safe systems of work and risk assessments.
  5. Review and improve safe systems of work to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  6. Attend and advise during safe start meetings to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  7. Manage day-to-day H&S activities on site, including monitoring and evaluating health and safety standards.
  8. Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
  9. Manage on-site occupational health services to ensure the well-being of employees.
  10. Coordinate training for non-SHE staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely.
Requirements:
  1. At least 2 years' experience in a busy site-based Health and Safety role within the construction industry.
  2. Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing roles.
  3. Technical knowledge and experience supporting health and safety in the construction and building services sectors.
  4. Proficiency in IT and report-writing.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
  2. CSCS Professional card.
  3. First aid training.
