We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team at TD SYNNEX. As a key member of our Datech team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and strengthening trading relationships with vendors and product marketing to obtain competitive advantage for TD SYNNEX through professional inventory planning and procurement.
Key Responsibilities- Place orders based on profiles produced by the Datech team
- Place purchase orders on vendors and check order confirmations for correct product, quantity, pricing, and delivery dates, and invoice customers on receipt of proof of shipment or delivery, updating SAP accordingly
- Ensure that all purchase orders raised are within authorised and agreed sign-off limits
- Expedite all open orders to maximise customer satisfaction and take responsibility for the highest degree of due date accuracy in SAP, supporting texts to be added if necessary for POD (proof of delivery) requests and queries
- Assist the IPP Analyst team with vendor price changes by ensuring correct cost prices are reflected within SAP
- Work within set policies and procedures and continually review and update where necessary
- Own and manage through until completion, any ad hoc projects as defined by Datech Management
- Provide a high level of service, support, and accuracy to the Datech team
- Consistently achieve set targets
- Minimise customer backlog
- Represent TD SYNNEX at all times in an efficient and professional manner
- Effective communication with internal and external partners
- Must be proactive and self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise daily routine to support a rapidly changing environment
- Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) and inventory replenishment systems (SAP R3) would be advantageous
- Commercial and financial acumen to balance inventory value and recovery margin
- Good analytical skills to analyse data and take appropriate action
- Must have a focused, proactive, and committed attitude to set and achieve action plans
- Sound knowledge of basic purchasing and inventory principles and practices
