About the Role

Baxter is a global pharmaceutical company that manufactures lifesaving products. We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team at our Elstree site.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position, working Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm, and every 1 in 3 Saturdays, 6am to 2pm. The salary is £25,600, and you will receive 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate batch documentation as required.
  • Undertake tasks allocated on the manufacturing plan, including basic cleanroom maintenance checks.
  • Complete transactions on the computerized ERP system.
  • Inform the Senior Manufacturing Technician or Supervisor if allocated tasks are not completed.
  • Carry out other duties as allocated outside of the manufacturing process and use your own initiative to find and complete other work.
  • Complete training on basic manufacturing processes.
  • Establish and maintain priorities to complete tasks and projects within timelines.
  • Achieve accurate record keeping and good housekeeping.
  • Report any errors or issues to QA and manufacturing leadership.
  • Ensure your training record is up to date and training modules are completed on time.
  • Communicate clearly when conveying ideas and information both in writing and verbally.
  • Attend and participate in operations department meetings.
  • Work cohesively with other team members to achieve target outputs.
  • Promote a strong teamwork environment and show cooperation within manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement ideas.

Requirements

  • GCSE level standard or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of SOPs and non-conformances would be an advantage but is not essential.
