Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke have formed a joint venture, BYLOR, to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C. The project is worth over £2.8 billion and involves the design and build of the HBX Operations Service Centre within the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily sub-contractors on a floor/zone basis
  • Monitor labour and material resource levels for each package
  • Daily diary of progress and notable actions
  • Contribute to the overall logistic plan of the site for specific packages
  • Chair and assist package interface meetings in design and construction spaces
  • Ensure works meet quality benchmarks and specification
  • Design input and coordination with design teams
  • Review and input into SHEQ documentation
  • Assist with LTQRs and handover of areas/rooms/levels
  • Assist with overall logistics and plans to facilitate works

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Buildings experience of 1-5 years +, specific to internal/fit out trades
  • Methodical thinker and action taker
  • Construction management or civil engineering degree
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • BIM skills at basic-intermediate level
  • Understanding and creation of programmes/schedules of work

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional image and commitment to work processes
  • Good problem solver and self-motivated

Education and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a degree in Building/Construction management or Civil engineering with relevant building experience
  • IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent safety accreditation
