About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer for Embedded Systems to join our Electronic and Sensor Integration Engineering team in Cambridge, UK.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of software for systems and products across various TE Energy product lines. This will include Crompton Instruments, Kries-Energietechnik, Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection, and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements capture and feasibility study
  • Design and implementation of embedded software
  • Integration and validation testing
  • Implementation of hardware drivers, interfaces, abstractions, state machines, advanced signal processing algorithms, application modules, and unit tests

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in embedded software C/C++ programming and experience in microcontroller-based system development. You should also be proficient in low-level microcontroller development, including device drivers, clocking modes, power management, and device bring-up.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with wireless protocols (LoRaWAN, LPWAN, MQTT, ZigBee, Bluetooth 5.1 supporting BLE protocol) and IoT infrastructure awareness
  • Strong understanding of Embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto) and application development on the Linux platform
  • Proficiency in Unit Testing, knowledge of SDLC, secure coding standards, key peripherals (USB, SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus), debugging tools, RTOS, CI/CD pipelines, and fluency in English
