PLC / Controls Engineer

Location: Dungannon

We are seeking a skilled PLC / Controls Engineer to lead our software development lifecycle, providing technical direction and mentoring to identify innovative solutions to realize design.

Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, program, and test software solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  2. Develop PLC software control systems to meet customer requirements.
  3. Create technical documentation, including work instructions, parts lists, and maintenance components.
  4. Provide technical guidance and direction to development teams, helping to identify solutions to realize design.
  5. Develop solutions to meet customer needs, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  6. Work on R&D projects to expand our product range and bring new products to the market.
  7. Ensure product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities.
  8. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  9. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with regulations.
  10. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  11. Adhere to our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  12. Adhere to company health and safety procedures.
  13. Maintain a clean and tidy works area.
Role Requirements:
  1. Must have an HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience.
  2. A minimum of 5 years postgraduate work experience in a similar design software role.
  3. Experience in software programming with Danfoss, Codesys, and Siemens.
  4. Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
  5. Detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
  6. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work well independently and in a team.
  8. Must have good technical drawing skills.
  9. Must have experience of drafting to electrical standards.
