About the Role

In this role, you will work in a supportive, dynamic environment, contributing to daily catering services for students. You will be part of a close-knit kitchen team, working alongside another chef and the catering manager. Your key responsibilities will include preparing and cooking meals for students, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, supporting the Manager in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen organisation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and work areas, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations during term time.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, experience in a similar kitchen role, ability to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure, passion for cooking and working in an educational environment, and excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions carefully.

This role offers a competitive salary of £24,000 per annum, overtime hours available paid at an enhanced rate, regular working hours with no evenings or weekends required, free meals while on duty, uniform provided at no cost, and a supportive environment where you can develop your culinary skills.
