About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support/Care Worker to join our team at VSA. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and other additional support needs in a farm-based setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the farm, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all service users.
  • Provide 1:1 support to service users, promoting their independence, choice, and dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, accessing and updating records in accordance with guidelines and policy.
  • Support service users in developing and maintaining social networks and relationships, promoting social inclusion and participation in the local community.
  • Assist service users in developing skills and knowledge to live as independently as possible.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Perform the role of key worker for identified service users.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and review of personal plans with service users.
  • Develop knowledge and practice continuously through participation in training and development activities.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with adults or children with learning disabilities and challenging behavior.
  • Experience of working with animals, ideally in a farm setting, or ability to demonstrate a love of animals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally with individuals.
  • Ability to write short reports.
  • Approachable, ethical, non-judgmental, team-worker, health and safety aware, client-focused, and organized.
